A BIT ABOUT WEST END
West End Flower Farm is well worth a visit - with ample flowers to look at and fields to admire. West End is a farm that's open five days a week to the public...
Customers of West End Kitchen gain access to the otherwise private flower farm and surrounding acreage. West End benefits from a signposted walk of approximately 1.5km with a small hill and lake - just enough to work up enough energy for a freshly baked slice of cake afterwards.
We are the fourth generation of Butler's to live at West End and the first generation to turn fields into flower fields (much to the shock of Grandpa who initially thought that growing flowers wasn't real farming) for commercial use.
We have a love of growing, confirmed to us over the last 18 months of running the farm. Will and I are eager to see what our expansion of last Autumn is going to bring and interested to see what this year ahead brings us. We have three small children, whom, if you happen to visit us, you may see around. They all help out when they can and are interested. Our youngest, is five, and is the happiest of 'helpers' but he is a rather over zealous weeder! The other two think it is great that they can label science sheets super quickly on the plants but we are not sure they listen to the 'boring' bits about watering and feeding... feel free to test them on it if you see them on your visit!
Our plans for the farm are to run a sustainable farm providing the best quality British flowers for the surrounding community. Our dream is that our farm of approximately 30 acres is one day full of flowers and is providing our family with a solid, safe future.
