The kitchen is open 9am -2.30 Wednesday - Saturday and we offer freshly made, seasonal food to suit every taste. Simon creates daily specials which are always local meat and fish. Our vegetables, will this year come from our vegetable beds wherever possible – if not they are sourced locally and without plastic packaging and always British. I’m afraid we do import somethings – avocados for example!
Our coffee and tea is made by Cupsmith, just a few miles away and their coffee is delicious – whilst we don’t get too hung up on ‘latte art’ – jolly good coffee is important and we think you will like it.
Our cakes – are homemade and do sell out in the afternoons. We bake daily using our own eggs from the chickens and you really can’t beat fresh eggs and homemade cakes.
Love to drink local wine? This isn’t a problem in the kitchen – we are pleased to have an alcohol licence and offer Greyfriars wine, Gorilla Spirits, Bitter Union bitters and Hogs Back beers. We do import red wine however.
The restaurant is just for dining in and it isn't posisble nowadays to sit in just for a cup of coffee sadly - so why not add to your day and book in for lunch or brunch to ensure you have a seat at the table (as it were!) Booking is essential for all meals as due to Covid we have reduced seating and a very much spaced out layout.
MEET THE CHEF, SIMON
Simon White is an extremely talented chef and transforms the standard to incredible – his food brings joy to many! This year he’s opening up to the kitchen garden where he’ll be picking home grown vegetables daily and combining this with locally sourced meat and fish. Dinner is where he can play with food and treat people to feasts of the senses. Simon is a bit camera shy but we’re working on him!
