Pumpkins, spooky walks and fun for children this Halloween
2020 hasn't been brilliant for children so this year we are proposing something fun, socially distanced of course and something we hope that no further rule changes will allow.
Pumpkin Carving Competition
This year we are hosting a HUGE pumpkin carving competition. Please bring your ready carved pumpkins to enter the Pumpkin Carving competition from Thursday until Saturday. The pumpkin must be dropped off named (by you) and with a light/candle. They will then be lit and displayed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoon for you to come and visit on the spooky walk and enjoy.
Pumpkins can be bought from our farm shop or elsewhere - we are selling home grown ones from here on the farm but any pumpkin is welcome - all shapes, sizes, shop bought, home grown ones!
The more pumpkins entered the better the spooky walk we are creating will be - we're hoping a team effort for a huge display will be.
The winner (must be a child - adult's entries can be named but won't count!) will be rewarded with a fun prize (age and gender appropriate).
Spooky Pumpkin Walk
Trick and treating doesn't look to be possible so we are proposing children visit in allocated times to take a walk around the spooky pumpkin walk (with all your pumpkins you've brought to take part in the competition). They can then enjoy a hot chocolate and spooky biscuit (included in the price) before their walk and of course a Halloween treat to take home.
Please do come in fancy dress as the best dressed will also be rewarded - snap a photo and tag us on Instagram and we'll choose the best dressed photograph.
Walks will take place from 4pm (perfect for little people who don't enjoy the actual dark) until 6pm and will take 20 minutes. We will meet each group in the tipi and explain the candle lit walk - footwear - wellies are essential and maybe a torch or two so no one is scared (!)
5 slots of maximum 30 PEOPLE per slot - Adults and Children are payable and accountable!
4 - 4.30pm; 4.30-5pm; 5pm - 5.30pm; 5.30pm-6pm; 6pm - 6.30pm.
Spooky Pumpkin Walk and Halloween Children's tea and Early Supper
Should you want to book in to the restaurant for children's tea at 5pm or early supper for 6.30pm please add this onto your booking. The menu will be suitably Halloween themed to make everyone feel positively holiday spirited!!
Children's tea will be limited to 30 people and be finished by 6pm to allow you to get the sweety filled people home for a bath! Children's tea will be pre-booking only.
Early supper will be served at 6.30pm and will be again suitably Halloween themed but also have adult (normal!) dishes too! Early supper will be pre-booking only and a maximum of 30.
THIS IS AS PER USUAL MAX OF SIX PER TABLE and please no large groups splitting into smaller tables.
COVID - 19 GUIDELINES
Covid is not going away, we are publishing our events but at any stage may be shut down to prevent the spread of Covid 19. We are hosting the spooky walk in the tipi - open air to help the air flow and outdoors for the walk so we don't foresee this being forced to close.
Social distancing is required between groups and we would really appreciate everyone respecting their distance and not walking as a mass! Six maximum!
